International football was well under way while the Austro-Hungarian empire was intact.

What did they play as then?

This is going to be a cracker!!

The Hungarian goalkeeper looks like someone from the 1970's in those trackers, I think he left his shorts at home.

Alaba truly is a world class player, can play almost anywhere as well.

ESPN have a female commentator calling this game.

Sometimes I feel like they're trying to alienate their audience.

Re: Austria Vs Hungary
Answer: Austria and Hungary.

In fact, they both played their first game against the other, in 1902.

Austria won, 5-0.

However, they lost 11-1 to England, six years later, and Hungary only lost 7-0 against the same opponents.

Both of these are record defeats for the two country's but Hungary manage to lose by the same score to England AMATEURS in 1912 (not sure if their full national team was amateur then).

The Hungarian keeper is Kiraly who wore those same trackie pants for years at Crystal Palace and joined us on loan for a short period.
Don't think he played

Hungary beat England 6-3 and 7-1 in the 50's.

The tracksuit bottoms of the Hungarian Goalkeeper are the only interesting part of this game so far.

I spent a month in Budapest when Hungary was still an Iron Curtain country.

Not really relevant. But after watching 40 minutes of this game, the best I have to offer.

In the same spirit of having nothing to say or useful to contribute.

Karch Kiraly is of Hungarian decent and was one of my idols when I played volleyball (despite being American.)

At least we have Slaven Bilic to look forward to, I can just Imagine him saying something like " Errrrrrr what can I say this game is bloody terrible the players are all over the place but I like the Goalkeepers long pants he looks you know ready for a fight ".
